Dear Cannabis Companies scrambling to address the systemic racism and disparity that plagues this industry:

Welcome to the movement. We are happy you are here. But please don’t forget that black and brown people have been working for access and equality in this industry for YEARS. It is offensive and patronizing when you develop programs/initiatives without any input from the black people you claim to serve. A good place to start is by contacting the black organizations and people who have been doing this work before it was cool. These organizations still aren’t being funded while companies with all white c-suites fund black facing nonprofits with all white boards that plan initiatives that aren’t the actual help we need. Please be mindful.
